Yes — that's what the Pro plan's Teams Live Handoff is built for. Microsoft ended support for its built-in Teams Live chat website widget on October 5, 2026. The widget is now hidden and website chats no longer reach Teams. We remove the old script, install your new AI chat, connect Live Handoff to your Microsoft 365, and test a real handoff before launch. Your old Teams and Lists history stays under your normal Microsoft 365 retention policies.

When a visitor asks for a person, they enter their name and email (phone is optional). Everyone with the Live Handoff tab in Teams gets an alert on desktop, web, and mobile. The first team member to claim the chat takes it, sees the full AI conversation, and replies live — the visitor stays in the same chat window and sees their name and a typing indicator.

At 45 seconds the visitor gets a "thanks for waiting" message and the request is flagged in your queue. If nobody has claimed it after 2 minutes, your support inbox gets an email with the visitor's name, email, phone, and the full conversation, and the visitor is told your team will follow up. Because email is required before a handoff starts, every missed chat arrives with a way to follow up.

There's no limit and no per-seat fee. You choose who gets the Live Handoff app in your Microsoft 365 organization — one owner, a front desk, or a whole support team — and add or remove people in your Teams admin center.
